Do I need a custom website instead of Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify?
Not always. A template platform can be a good fit for a simple, standard site. Custom work becomes more valuable when your business needs a distinctive experience, unusual content structure, integrations, better performance control, or a site that has to work around a specific operational process.
What does “custom” mean at Portage Creek?
It means we begin with your goals and real requirements instead of selecting a design first. We can still use proven services where they make sense; the important part is that the final system supports your business rather than forcing your business into a preset shape.
Can you build an internal CRM or operations tool?
Yes. PCWDS can design and build focused internal web tools, including client tracking, planning, intake, reporting, and workflow management. We first identify whether an existing product already solves the problem well, then build only where a tailored tool offers a clear advantage.
Will I own the website or application?
The technical handoff and ownership model are defined before launch. You should know where the code, domain, data, and third-party accounts live, and how to access them.
